Our Queen Nala is at Peace...

Our Nala was battling cancer for a second time.  She had her up and down days with it at 14 years old, but yesterday at 4am it started to get the best of her where she started spitting up blood.  She had been diagnosed in February of this year with another mast cell tumor.  At her age and where it was located surgery would have been too much for her to go through again. We opted to monitor her and took her a couple times to a holistic vet to make her comfortable during this time with cold laser therapy, acupuncture and chiropractic care.  Easter weekend she gave us a scare and we thought then we were loosing her.  We got her to our regular vet then and they gave her half a bag of IV fluids, a shot of Benadryl and some other meds and she perked up by the time we left. They sent us home to give her 2 shots a day of a med to keep her tummy settled, so she would eat.  She had lost 4lbs, but gained 2 back in the last 2 weeks and was doing great for what she had. We knew it was just a matter of time, but you are never really ready when it does happen.
She was a great dog and a true and fair alpha of her pack here.
She is terribly missed by so many and in many ways.
Over the 14 years of having her she was a great big Sibe sister to her siblings, written in a book on K-9 Epi dogs, a model for Poopsadaisy a pet product, a model at the Rochester FurBall event where she modeled a collar by a designer from NYC(which we will always have, mom had to have it and sure glad I do, but miss those days), she won pet costume contest over the years, but most of all she was a great friend and companion to us.  We miss her so much.
We are keeping an eye on Boo, Ariel and Chip with this adjustment.
Last night Boo was looking for her big sis.  They had been together since Boo was 8weeks old, a total of 12years.
We know now she is pain free and running free with Oreo and Timber.
We could tell yesterday she was telling us it was time.  As Mike put it she didn't have that sparkle in her eyes, it was time.
Never an easy decision.

Happy Spring!

Yes, today is Spring!

In honor of Spring the site:
honors Siberian huskies
that have crossed the Rainbow Bridge over the years.
There are over a hundred huskies listed with a brief story about them.  Its a beautiful memorial for them.
So, tonight at 8pm in honor of Spring and our boys, Oreo and Timber that have crossed the Rainbow Bridge we will light a candle in front of their pictures.
And maybe its something you all out there can start for your beloved companions that have crossed the Rainbow Bridge too.
Here is the original 4.
The girls up front, Nala and Boo
and in the back Oreo and Timber.
There will never be another 4 like this crew!

The boys in their patriotic ties.

Boys waiting for dinner.

Just enjoying the bit of snow together.

The boys chillin' with their daddy.

The boys sleeping on the sofa.

Out for walk.

Mom dressed them up in silly ties.

This was the last doggie party where they were all together to celebrate Nala's birthday.

I always will love how Timber crossed his paws.

And he always let me put silly glasses on him.

And Oreo just enjoying the party.
It's hard to belief looking at this picture he was so sick with cancer because he never showed it.
So, tonight at 8pm please take a moment and think of my boys and also think of your beloved companions too!
Happy Spring!

Happy 14th Birthday Nala!

Yes, it my 14th Birthday!
(3-1-15)

Mom and I decided on the Frozen theme since I am Queen Nala and I am a snow dog.

Mom made us these favors of hooves filled with peanut butter and sprinkles. Yum!

Instead of cake this year, I got doggie bones wishing me a Happy 14th Birthday.

I am trying to decide which one I want?

My little brother knows better then to grab one of the tray since its my birthday.

Boo had to check out the tray of goodies too.

Mom likes groups shots of us.

More treats please!

Mom likes putting bow ties on Chip.  He does look like a dapper young pup.

Ariel making a funny face for mom.

Another treat tray-yum!

So many to choose from.

Boo enjoying one of her treats.

Mom likes putting bows on us since we are girl dogs.

I had to remind brother it was my birthday, but I did share with everyone.

I got  teddy bear.

 A new blankie.

Mom got a picture of all of us girls.

Mom also got a picture of the young ones together.

My brother and his bow tie.

Mom thought it was cute to put a crown on Ariel's head, but I don't think Ariel thought it was cute at all.

I am all tired out from my party, so I am going to take a nap now with my new blankie, pillow and bear.
