Our dog of steel...

Timber got to come home yesterday, but he was very tired last night and still is today.
We are letting him rest.
It's amazing how the rest of the pack knows he needs to rest and they leave him alone.
Everything went well and he had very little tarter on his teeth, which I thought was pretty good for his age.
The stitches will dissolve on their own and we go back in a couple of weeks for a re-check to make sure all is good.
The good thing is he still loves to eat, so that's a very good sign to us.
Again, thank you for your kind thoughts and words.
It's much appreciate.

No playing with sticks...

Yes, it's Boo here.  Somebody has to keep on eye on these kids here.
So, I guess it's my turn to babysit them.
I had to take away the little boy's stick, so he didn't poke himself in the eye or his sisters for that matter.
When will he ever go up?

Oops! Ma caught us, says Ariel and Chip.
For some reason Chip loves to carry around the branches that have blown down this winter from our hedgerow. So, obviously Boo took his stick away from him today, which is probably a good idea.

The dog of steel...

Well, Timber did fine through his tooth surgery this morning and thankfully it was only the one tooth that was cracked.
I will be able to pick him up later this afternoon, which makes me very happy to have our Bubba home tonight. Yes, that's one of his many nicknames like the dog of steel.
Last night, I called him the dog of steel.  We have had Timber in our lives going on 9 years as of this coming 4th of July.
We don't have any ideas of what his first 5years of life were like, but I truly believe once he got here with us he has been a happy boy.
So, the reason I now call him "Steel" not just because of his fur color, but he has been through so much with his health. He sure has fight in him to make it through all of his procedures over the past 9 years.
And just to let you know when we had to take him to Cornell one time, he's a very special boy because he is the only dog here to get a r-I-d-e in daddy's truck.(No doggies are allowed in daddy's truck, just mommy's kennel on wheels as daddy calls it.)
We always say there will never be another rescue dog in our lives like him.
He is very, very mellow for a Siberian husky, which makes him so lovable.
Even though he is getting older and his back legs are on the weak side, he still has stubbornness
in him.  He knew this morning when mommy put the leash on where he was going and was a stinker about getting in the car to go to the v-e-t.  I finally got him in and then he was a stinker about getting out at the v-e-t's office.  So, that just showed me once again he still has fight in him.
So, in a couple of hours I will be bringing him home and we will keep you all posted on our old guy.
Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers for him!

Where are you going, my snow?

Chip doesn't want his snow to leave.  He has been having a blast with it being his first winter.
The snow is slowly melting, but more is suppose to return later this week.

Sleepy Saturday...

Boo has always covered her eyes with her paw while she sleeps peacefully.
She is our only husky to ever do this.
It's cute and different, but makes her unique out of the pack.

Someone has a toothache...

Yes, our oldest Sibe, Timber has a tooth infection/abscess.
You can't see it in this picture, but if you look close enough at the birthday party pictures you might be able to see the lump under his right eye.
He's on antibiotics for now and will have to have surgery to remove the infected tooth.
We will keep you posted on how he does.
On a good note, his ear infection is just about gone!

Big 1!

Yes, today is my first birthday(2/20/14) and this is how we celebrated my special day, says Chip.

Here's my party table.

Look at all the presents I have to open.

Even Auntie Dorothy and the Five Sibes sent me presents.  I wonder what they are?

Mommy presented me with my cake and treats!

Of course I had to share with my Sibe siblings.

But mommy made sure I got the most since it was my birthday.

Sister, Ariel sat next to me at the party.

I wonder what I got?

Oh, I wasn't peeking.

Really, mom I wasn't peeking.

Mommy let me open Auntie Dorothy's present first.

And I got a cake that plays "Happy Birthday".  I am still trying to figure out how it does that?

My Sibe siblings each got me a toy too.

I got some new balls to play with!  I love to chase them around.

Here I am with my big sister, Nala.

Mommy thought it would be funny to try these props on us.

Nala was the only willing participant.

This was Nala's most favorite one , the crown since she is the Queen here.

My brother, Timber is always a good sport about wearing funny glasses for mommy.

Here are my Sibe siblings.

My sister, Boo with her party hat on.

Now Boo is laughing at something about the party.

Here I am with my big brother, Timber.
I asked him for some help in trying to figure out how this toy plays music?
We are still working on it.
When I figure it out I will let you all know.

Timber just chillin' at the party.

Here I am just hanging out with my siblings.

Here is my funny face!

I think I am getting sleepy after all this partying.

Time to go to bed now.

An afternoon of fun in the snow!

My great nieces and nephew came over to play outside with the dogs.

We first started out with Aunt Holly on her cross country skis being pulled by Ariel and Chip.
Each of the kids got a turn on the inner tube for a ride behind Aunt Holly.

Here we are getting ready for the ride.

Boo watches on and glad she isn't on the team of huskies pulling mommy and the kids.

Boo decides its much more fun to chase the kids from behind.

And there she goes.

Boo decided that our nephew needed a riding companion.
Anytime you say the word R-I-D-E, Boo is all for it.

Nala gettin' some love from one of our nieces.

Here we go again.

Squeezin' in some more love from our niece.

Boo says, What about me?

And this was our last run back up to the hill.

Chip with the kids.

Aunt Holly and Ariel take the kids down the hill on the tube.

Here we go for another run.

We had a little bump in the road, Boo.
Boo decided to sit down in the middle of our path down the hill.

She finally moved and got some belly rubs out of it.

Chip giving out hugs and kisses.

Boo still working on the belly rubs.
It was a great afternoon with the huskies and our nieces and nephew.
Timber stayed inside, but he did say bye-bye to the kids by barking as they left.
