A Flood Day, Not a Snow Day...

Hi, everyone!
School was closed out here today due to flooding in our area, not snow.
Could you imagine how much snow we would have had?!
I am going to share some of the  photos that I took in our corner of the town where we live.  I couldn't go all the way into town because all the roads are a mess according to what my husband called to tell me.  He works for the highway dept. and has been out since real early this morning.

This is what our neighbors creek looked like in their pasture lot for their horses and cows this morning.

Here on our road the creek went over the road this morning.

A closer view of our road.

The end of our driveway.

Yes, we had to go to the vet today with Shaboo.
She got stung in the right eye area last night.  We gave her benadryl for the night.
And it was still swollen this morning and basically the vet told us to continue the antihistamine for up to another 48 hours.
Anyways, this was the front yard at the vet's office this morning.

Another angle of the yard at the vet's office.

The bridge at the vet's office.
The water can't go through fast enough.

This was the backyard of the house next to the vet's office.

After we left the vet's office I took Boo for a ride.  Her favorite thing in the world to do.
This was the road that runs behind our house into town.
This is a creek that has washed out driveways on this road.

Another view of the water flowing along.

As you can see the water just moving across the driveways.

This is the water from the creek from the previous picture, going over the road to the neighbors driveway across the road.

This photo is the flats of Honeoye, NY.
That really is a farm field just flooded with water.

This is a county road in our town and that's one of the county workers out dealing with the water.

It's going to be a long day for these guys out working with only a broom to push the water back.
I am sure all the other equipment is out being used on worse areas in the town.

No, this is not a new lake in town.
It really is a farm field just totally flooded out.

The huskies and I are fine.  We are safe and dry.
It is amazing what happened over night here.  I have lived here now for 13 years and its never been this bad.
Honeoye, Naples and Penn Yan schools were closed today due to the road conditions.
We hope everyone else is safe too!
