An Animal Blessing...

Today, I took Chip to an animal blessing ceremony since he is the only
husky of mine that hasn't been blessed yet.

Ceremony was held in Rush, NY.

This was the drive into the pet cemetery.
It turned out to be a beautiful afternoon.
The morning started off cool and rainy.

All kinds of pets are welcomed here.
Chip thought that was a "real" horse, so he had to bark at it when we got there.

This was one of the dog statues.

This is the start of the ceremony where we met lots of other dog people today.

We picked out 2 candles in memory of our furangels Oreo and Vixie.

This is Rev. Kathy Smith who said a prayer for the animals.

Here Kathy and her friend light the candles in memory of the animals.

Chip wanted to play with this gal, but her mommy said she was too old for the pup.

Chip thought he was a big dog till he met this greyhound.

Chip says: I think those are my kind of dogs?

Of course, he had to bark at this statue as well.

Mommy and Chip up on the hill at the cemetery on such a beautiful day.

We went back to take pictures of furangels Oreo and Vixie's candles now lite.

Blue one was for Oreo and the orange for Vixie.

A full view of all the candles.

Kathy giving Chip his blessing.
She is also an animal communicator and he talked about a harness to her and snow!
I asked if he had a favorite sibling at home and he hasn't made that decision yet.
She told him he ended up at a great home.

Yes, that's a turtle and
Chip wants a toy just like that.

I will let Santa know I want a remote control turtle for Christmas.

Little Chip is getting tired out after a long day, but
it was a beautiful day with beautiful animals and people that truly love them.
There was also a Native American lady who said a prayer, played a drum and helped each of us make a medicine bag to take home.

  1. Ciara is also quite fond of turtles and of course, her brother Thunder had once made friends with a turtle we encountered on one of our walks. We dubbed him Tony Turtle:)

    Very nice ceremony.
